Master the art of "lost" sightseeingWandering without GPS can lead to the best hidden gems (or a great workout while finding your way back).

On road trips, I often just start driving and then about halfway through my drive, I set my destination to validate I’m still able to get there at a reasonable time. This has often led to find unusual sightings, such as the Crazy Horse Memorial near Mount Rushmore.

Similarly, in new foreign cities, I don’t turn on cell service and find my way around based on a paper map. However, for safety’s sake and photo ops, I have my phone with me in case I need to use it to find my way around.
