Where are you going?
What has been your favorite place to visit? Why?
What’s #1 on your Bucket List?

If you read Getting Started, you have figured out how you want to travel, but the where you are struggling with. All you really know is that you cannot spend another weekend mowing the lawn, cleaning the kitchen, or marathon viewing some random TV show that Neflix keeps asking if you’re still watching. The travel bug has taken hold - now, where to take it?
1. Is there an event that you really, really, really want to attend, but thought it was too far away? Perhaps the CMA fest in Nashville or the Turkey Testicle Festival in Crystal River, FL (Yes, it's real, I've been)? If so, plan your trip around that. Bonus is that you've also solved the "When" question. This is also a good opportunity to meet people with similar interests as you. If you can't seem to find a friend or two to join in, consider going SOLO! I know, solo can be scary, but most people don't bite - most.
2. Is there a family member or friend who lives in a land far, far away who you miss like crazy, but have been too non-committal to schedule a get-together? Maybe now's a good time to call them up and see if their couch is free! A friend of mine recently went to France to see an aunt that she never met, then spent the next two weeks exploring Europe. She may have just needed that little "excuse" to take the time and spend the money to go.
3. Is there a place you saw on a social media site that has piqued your interest? I now have the Maldives on my bucket list because I saw a picture that has sleeping huts that you have to swim or boat to. I've also used social media to add items to my must-see list on my American Road Trips. Once I have my trips & pictures uploaded, maybe those will inspire you to follow in my footsteps. Well, maybe follow in my tire tracks, since I have basically driven all over this country.
4. Develop your Bucket List and then start checking things off. As I mention in the About Me section, I’m entering my mid-life crisis. I know this because I spent an entire weekend developing my Bucket List, scheduled it, and creating a spreadsheet to ensure my finances would cover it. I’ve always had the mindset that I didn’t want to wait until I was 65 years old to start my retirement travel because I figured I’d be in a wheel chair or at least a motorized scooter by then. Starting to work off my Bucket List by the time I turned 40 seemed like a better plan of attack and better guarantee that I would be physical able to take that dog sledding adventure into the Northern Lights arena in the middle of winter.

5. Last resort, throw a dart at a map. However, I've heard that your more than likely to hit water if you try that method. So unless you want to spend a few days drifting aimlessly in the ocean, you might want to narrow it down to a continent first, then dart away!
